Cons: Phones, Cost, Service

Summary: When I make a call, it usually drops it and takes me to check my balance. It is extremely annoying and i hate it. My phone is terrible, horrible to do anything with. You can barely call, you cant text, and the photos are TERRIBLE! I hate Boost, and would never recommend it to anybody

Awesome prepaid $50/month unlimited minutes text web

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Crux Felder on Sunday, May 31, 2009
From: Rochester, NY (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: very reasonable price with no taxes or additional fees

Cons: web browser is limited

Summary: A wonderful cell service. Radio Shack sold me the i290 phone and it was so easy. Activation took 10 minutes. Great coverage...I used this phone on a recent trip through the Eastern US and never had problems. Signal was strong in the mountains, in the cities, or on the beach. Texting was easy and reliable. Best part is no contracts, no taxes, and no additional fees, just $50/month on my credit card for unlimited minutes and text. Highly recommended.

BOOSTMOBILE RAPIDLY DECLINING SERVICE AND SUPPORT and ATTITUDE

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: J. P Sant on Saturday, May 02, 2009
From: Tucson, AZ (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: As of late NOTHING.

Cons: Poor service. Poor customer support. Poor customer follow up. Poor quality control on handsets.

Summary: WAS a customer for over 4 years. Watched quality of service and support decline. As of late here in Tucson, AZ.
quality of service has been TERRIBLE. Full bars (signal strength) and repeatedly get NO SERVICE on screen. Call tech support, reset phone and it happens again and again. Constant dropped calls. Over 1 month period..Call tech support..Can NOT understand tech rep. Reset phone...Starts all over again.. Went through exchange of 3 i776's...One DOA...One would not dial out...One no display..Good quality control..Best Buy salesperson says they have quite a few complaints and returns of Boost handsets. Customer support at Boost was very, very poor. Ask to speak to a manager usually results in long waits and "accidental" hang ups...Promises to callback on follow ups..NEVER happens..I am not alone as at least 8 other boost users in Tucson are experiencing near same service issues. Lost $20.00 on error on Boost's end and ALL they would admit to was a "courtesy $ 5.00 adjustment"
on my account. That was sweet! Majority of there tech rep's were less than pleasurable to deal with. Seemed like they were doing YOU a favor by talking to you.. I WAS a 4+ year STEADY PAYING customer..I KNOW there are problems with service at times, but when it was so constant that BASIC usage was not there and there was no
support or for that matter THE CARE to assist, what is one to think! Bye, Bye Boost...Hope you get your act together...I moved on and have reliable service..I CAN USE MY PHONE!!! AND am not limited to the POOR selection of POOR quality handsets.. ( $299.00 for an i9. what a joke!)

What is the problem???

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Toni Lyons on Thursday, April 23, 2009
From: Fort Wayne, IN (United States)
Experience: 7 Days
Pros: Price, Service

Cons: Internet older

Summary: I don't see what the problem is. I've only had the service for a week but I already love it. I was with Virgin Mobile for over a year before and had more problems with my old service than I have so far with Boost. I contacted customer service two days after for a charge that I recived but shouldn't have and they credited me immediatly for it. And the customer service was quite plesant.

Pros: We're still located in the USA

Cons: NONE

Summary: I currently use boost mobile and work for them in Customer Service located in Louisiana! We're not going anywhere, and neither are the other call centers located in California, Florida, Oregon, Texas, or Arkansas! So please keep uneducated comments to yourself!

Good Service, have'nt had a problem yet...

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Rebecca Ashlock on Saturday, April 18, 2009
From: Oklahoma city, OK (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Cheap plans for teenagers! Especially the unlimited text, and minutes.

Cons: Cost of phones are pricey!

Summary: I have AT&T/Cingular. I had maxed out my 5 phone limit so I found Boost for my 14 year old. We've had the service for going on two years now. We've never had a problem with dropped calls or excessive waits for texts, and his texts come to approx 6k+ a month! I've had to deal with customer service 6-7x in the two years and have never had a problem reaching someone, with them being able to speak clear english, or be knowledgable of my problem. As with most services they tell you how long your wait is going to be. If it's a busy time and I don't want to hold 20 min I call back at a later hour. When I call back during non peak times I am on with someone in less than 5 minutes. I once called over a billing dispute and they handled it fairly and professionally and did credit the following month. For basic services this is a great service. If you expect I-phone type capabilities lightening fast, you might want to go with a larger carrier such as Cingular/Verizon.

Spare yourself and dont get boost

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: amber bowen on Thursday, April 16, 2009
From: roanoke, VA (United States)
Experience: 3 Weeks
Pros: 3.1 mega pixel camera on my i9... it has flash too

Cons: where do i start... text messaging is not instant, customer service dont know how to do their job (or speak english at that), i cant call certain phone companies, certain people can open my pic messages

Summary: i bought the $300 motorola i9 and now its useless because i refuse to stay with boost and no other phone company will let me keep my phone. so if you do get boost regardless of the poor reviews buy the most inexpensive phone first to make sure you like boost before you buy a nice phone.it will save you a whole lot of regret.

This phone/boost mobile sucks

Overall Rating:
1.5 out of 5
By: Car Gar on Friday, April 10, 2009
From: Hesperia, CA (United States)
Experience: 14 Days
Pros: The chirping. Would be a great deal if it worked properly.

Cons: Roaming charges, Internet on it is lame and hard to use. Boost loop is pointless. Takes hours or days to receive texts. Ugly phone

Summary: 24/F/CA

Bought the Motorola i776 at Radio Shack for $99.99 on March 27th 2009. Also prepaid my first month. I got the unlimited everything plan. For $50.00 a month.

The phone it's self is kinda ugly. It has no alarm clock, or calculator like most phones do. It is small and hard to use. This phone is WAY overpriced!

Texting- was perfectly fine at first, but now it's taking hours, even days to receive texts. It's not a very easy phone to text with either, everything's so small I end up pushing the wrong buttons like every text.
It does store a lot of messages though.

Calls seem to be ok, I hate that you have to put in an area code everytime you need to call someone. No dropped calls or anything like that though.

The only thing I really like is the chirping. Since I can't text, I can at least chirp my husband when I need to.

There is the Boost Loop that's supposed to tell you where your other boost looped friends are, except is is almost always wrong. It will say my husband's on the other side of town, when in fact he's sitting right next to me. So that feature is pointless.

It also the the internet. I tried using it and well...it was hard to use, and I'll probably never try to use it again.

I also was NEVER told about the roaming charges.

So to sum it up: This phone/boost mobile sucks.

I hope they do something quick about this texting issue, or I'll throw this phone in the street lol.

From: Hazleton, PA (United States)
Experience: 30 Days
Pros: NONE

Cons: All and everything

Summary: I have the new i425 for a month now my wife bought 2 phones and two contracts for a total of 285 dollars. Well i can only receive text messages from people who have boost or nextel phones i call every 3 days and first i sit on hold for 15 mins then i speak w/someone who dont speak english. Then i sit on the phone with cc for an hr as they try to "fix" this problem to no aval. Then they send me to tech dept and i go through it again to no aval, till after more than an hr and a half they tell me they have to write a ticket for this problem to call back in 3 days. I have had enough i am told and as i read this company is advertising for a service that doest work but we still need to pay for something we are not getting.
