good service

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Justin O. on Thursday, June 11, 2009
From: Ashland, WI (United States)
Experience: 18 Months
Pros: gets service where other phones don't

Cons: customer service takes forever

Summary: I get service in northern states, like deep in the woods where other phones don't. It can be frustrating when something happens and you don't have service. There's only three places I don't get service, and those are down in big ravines. Customer service could be more efficient, but overall I would recommend NET10 to others

Use them: If you do not care about customer service.

Pros: Simple as long as you have no issues. Good coverage. Obviously no contracts.

Cons: 1. Non-exsistant Customer service (worse than POOR!) So if you do have a problem you are sunk.
2. Sometimes call appears to go through and is charged, but actually has not completed. (and no refund) This is aggravating after 20 or so times.

Summary: I have used Net10 for over one year. The phone itself has been very good. I get good coverage all over. The signal is quite good (here in NE Ohio). We have a number of pockets between traditional providers here and this phone takes care of them all.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: HORRIBLE

As I write I am on hold to them for over an hour. You would think that something as simple as updating your credit card expiration date would be easy. Not with this company. Having previous experience with them I asked the CSR as he said he was transferring me to the "cue" to take the information, if it would be long. He answered, "No. I just spoke with them." Well, as I am still drafting this and still on hold. Read other peoples reviews about taking days and days on the phone to resolve issues.

They are, I believe, based in Costa Rica. So if you are willing to take a chance with a Central American Banana Republic phone company, go for it!

I use them because I do not want a contract. Read the other reviews about their poor customer service.

Net10 Customer Service

Overall Rating:
2 out of 5
By: Pat Coyle on Tuesday, March 17, 2009
From: Swannanoa, NC (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: Phone service is good if you never have to deal with NET10 Uncustomer Unservice!

Cons: When you call Net10's Uncustomer service they try to keep you on the line to use up all your minutes. "Now what is that simm card number again" You feel like you are talking to someone who is more stupid than the most stupid person you know.

Summary: We order the refurbished phones that come with an extra 300 minute card. You can't beat the deal. But if you have to call Net10's Uncustomer service you are better off just throwing the phone away and excepting your loss. Because if you try to resolve issues with Net10's Uncustomer service you will want to kill someone by the time you get off the phone with them and you will still have the same issues that you had when you called them at first. If you ask me it is a minute racket. They sell so many defective units and the Uncustomer service dummies keep you on the line to burn all your minutes on another phone. I feel we are still ahead but the frustration with UCS has us looking for a new phone service.

Net 10 is best for me

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: John Ross on Monday, March 16, 2009
From: Purcell, OK (United States)
Experience: 9 Months
Pros: Price is simple and fair, reload of minutes easy online, good phones

Cons: Had none so far (9 months, 3 phones)

Summary: I have 3 Net 10 phones...price is simple and fair...have not found any better deal. I **hate** signing a damn contract for a damn phone--easier to buy a house! I think having more than one phone is a good idea, prevents going phoneless if one fails. 10-cents a minute, that's it...go online and add minutes and they appear in about 3 minutes or less. Get MOTOROLA phones--all others are crap. Simple Prepaid phones will save you money not having to see psychiatrists after trying to read a phone-contract bill with it's 300 ways to bill you--death by a thousand cus. Net10--NO EVIL!!

Don't buy direct from them.

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Richard Homeyer on Thursday, March 12, 2009
From: Irving, TX (United States)
Experience: 1 Days
Pros: none.

Cons: They shipped a motorola battery with an lg phone, and the other phone was cracked, and died within minutes.

Summary: I bought 2 phones direct from net 10. One shipped with the wrong battery (they sent a motorola battery with an lg phone). The other phone activated but did not have the 300 minutes. I called on the cel (it let me call net10 with no minutes). They added the time but deducted the time used to call about the problem. So I call to complain about that. The person was quite rude and put me on hold forever. While on hold, the phone just died. I looked it over closely and realized that there was a crack in the side of the phone. I now have 2 useless phones and was unable too resolve anything with net 10.

From: Tonawanda, NY (United States)
Experience: 1 Days
Pros: Cheap

Cons: the service did not work out of the box and after 4calls to the company, the phone could still not be activated error code 104(?)

Summary: they could not activate the phone for some technical reason, and after 4 calls and an hour on hold with india, they could not resolve the issue. Was never able to use the phone. great price, very poor service

NET10 is the BEST

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Matthew Thoreson on Sunday, March 01, 2009
From: Rochester, MN (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: Looking 2 months at all other prepaid sevice plans NET10 is the cheapest we have 3 phones and are paying only 48 a month cant beat that on a contract plan. Customer service, though hard to understand, was always helpful and fixed any problems we had.

Cons: LG Phones aren't reliable, 2 of the 3 phones are LG a LG600G which is a crap phone no bluetooth headset is detectable, ringers suck, voice recording ringtones is impossible to hear, Service on the LG600G cuts off constantly within range (4-5 bars at ALL times) and says emergency calls only DOES NOT work in houses or in stores we have to walk in the middle of the street and up the block for the person to hear us the other LG (LG CG225) is not that bad only downfall with LGs is the low memory only

Summary: I use the Motorola w375 i am vary happy with its FM Radio (thought using it makes the battery drain like crazy) only downfall is the shit battery life only use it about 5-10 minutes a day and have the charge it every other day (when people claim they go WEEKS with it and not having to charge it BULL even NOT using the phone everyday and it just in standby (closed but powered on) still leads to charging it every other day) and having to charge it everyday if i listen to the radio for 15 minutes. Point is with Net10 STAY AWAY from the LG600G its not a good phone you will be lucky when it actually DOES work dont think cuz u have bars u got service NOT TRUE with the LG600G! The LG and Samsung phones are no good Motorola is reliable mines got wet (water spilled on it and in it and was STILL on and WORKING with it being drenched) and it has slipped out of my hands at least a dozen times and hit the icy concrete, fallen in snow, slamed on hard floors and still works flawlessly if I had an LG itd be trashed and nonworking or unusable by now

Works just fine!

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: John Somtething on Tuesday, January 27, 2009
From: Somewhere, WA (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: Its a cell phone...and works as good or better than any other cell phone.

Cons: Don't get into a situation where you need to call customer service.

Summary: We have 5 Net10 phones, and the service is fine. It works out to be $15 per month, and we never run out of minutes for what we use it for. Customer service is done by morons in Miami or Costa Rica over VoIP, so it can be a little challenging. Other than that, it beats the pants off paying ATT, Verizon or US Cellular for the same crappy service (for a lot more money).

Phones not bad, customer service not so good all the time.

Overall Rating:
2.3 out of 5
By: c albert on Wednesday, January 21, 2009
From: everett, WA (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: the no contract and pay as you.

Cons: customer service reps not speaking good english.

Summary: I been with net10 for about 5yrs now and they aren't too bad aside from the customer service reps not speaking english and half the time you have to get tough and request the supervisor to get problems solved. I had my phone stole and I called to have my phone cancelled so the person couldn't use it. The rep said no problem, when you get your new phone just call use and we will transfer your minutes and number to the new phone. Not true they somehow managed to delete my old number and then they almost could figure out how to transfer my minutes. Then they made me buy 300 minutes more to activate the new phone and I had to wait a week for a new sim card to be send to me. After getting everything done and the phone was working I found out that when I called anyone the name that came up on their caller ID was someone elses name. It took almost three weeks and numerous calls to correct this issue.
