Sprint stinks - I hate them

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: alex johansen on Monday, December 17, 2007
From: kansas city, MO (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: they have the Centro which I like

Cons: Everything else about Sprint and it's foreign customer service

Summary: I am only with Sprint because my hubbys company is with them and I can get free mobile to mobile. I am working on getting that changed. For the first couple of yrs they were no worse than Cingular who I had to leave when hubby switched companies. Once they merged with Nextel it went to crap. My service area seems to have changed, I drop calls while sitting on my front porch and not moving. i can't even use my phone on the Sprint Campus headquarters here in Kansas City. I smiled as they asked why my phone kept beeping and informed them that I couldn't even get reliable service on their sacred ground.
I called customer service for almost a yr and found out they WOULDN'T transfer me to the people who could fix my problem (treo service) and the people in the stores kept telling me to call sprint cause they couldn't fix it either. Problem was solved after THREE phone replacements within a month. 3 phones didn't work? Really?

After calling a number of times to countries where I can barely understand their reps ( thanks alot for sending me to pakistan....thanks alot.), repeated requests to talk to a supervisor, more apologies ( i told them to stop wasting my time apologizing and transfer me since they really weren't sorry and I was getting angry) and MANY attemts to acess my account online and thru the automated service I find that they have put my account on temp hold for a reason that I have nothing to do with. My bill isn't due for a few more days yet they say it has to be paid before I can use it. They cut off any ability to access your acount thru any other measure other than their crappy customer service line. How can I pay if I can't even get to it. And it wasn't even my fault. But they don't care cause your phone is off and they have you by the cajones and they want your money and if you don't pay they will charge you more, cut off your ability to fix your service and stick you with an erroneous disconnect fee since they renewed your contract without your permission. Not my fault your crappy phone wouldn't work.
STAY AWAY FROM SPRINT!! They are the devil.

Sprint won't refund me my money

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: LINDA FRAZIER on Sunday, December 02, 2007
From: BOSCOBEL, WI (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Don't know onw

Cons: Bad customer service

Summary: Sprint admits they owe me $$$, but keep lying about sending it. They can’t prove they’ve sent me a refund, but keep telling me, the FCC, BBB & DATCP, that it was sent. I’ve gotten my bills their letters and junk here at my home address, just can’t get the money they owe me. They’ve been lying to me for 7 months now, all I want is my money back. If I owed them money believe me they would be hounding me. I’m not giving up. I hope someone starts a class action lawsuit against Sprint. I’ll be the first to sign up. Everyone I know that has Sprint is feeling ripped off too. I hope that word of mouth shut the whole bunch of liars down.

So Far So Good!

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Karen Salmon on Friday, November 30, 2007
From: Raleigh, NC (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Never had a dropped call.

Cons: Can't think of any at this time.

Summary: Once the initial sign-up agreement was taken care of, meaning once the billing got straighened out in the beginning of my contract, I have had no problems what-so-ever. I use my cell for mostly when I travel and emergencies so I don't give my number to everyone, just those that I feel need to have it. So far, after almost two years, I have no complaints.

terrible

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Dave Petterson on Tuesday, November 27, 2007
From: Scranton, PA (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: Nextel side is great/

Cons: Sprint side is terrible

Summary: I am a dealer with Sprint/Nextel, I have no issue with Nextel, I can get done whatever needs to be done. Sprint on the other hand is terrible. the customer service is not helpful friendly nor can they explain anything to you. The worst part is. with being a dealer, it is STILL terrible. Customers bills getting messed up, and desposits and payments applied to the wrong accounts. There is no reason that the company is failing in all of the major cities. What to do? Cancel, well, it is just not that easy. To all who do switch beware.

Terrible customer service since Nextel merger- Stay away

Overall Rating:
2.3 out of 5
By: Cynthia G on Tuesday, November 20, 2007
From: Chicago, IL (United States)
Experience: 8 Years
Pros: In store personnel are usually very nice. Older phones are reliable and durable. Few dropped calls. Plan pricing was reasonable.

Cons: Unbelievably bad customer service by phone. Incompetence and miscommunciation plague the company. Billing errors are constant. Takes an inappropriate amount of time to get service issues addressed by phone. Unethical scamming behaviors to get you to stay on the plan (e.g.- a rep called me and offered me many bonuses such as a free new phone, 3 months free service and a month-to-month vs. contract- ALL were false). Despite having the name and number of each customer service rep I spoke with ea

Summary: I was a loyal Sprint customer for more than 8 years (business plan, family plan and lastly individual service). Although the drop call pockets were always present, I knew exactly where they were and could work around it. But the problems I have had with incorrect billing, deception regarding my plan and the unbelievable incompetence with customer service have sent me running from this company. It's a shame too because I was really happy with Sprint before the merger with Nextel. I strongly recommend others be careful with this carrier. I switched to Verizon. So far so good...

No Problems

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: M Phillips on Wednesday, November 14, 2007
From: Tunnel Hill, GA (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: Pretty much everything.

Cons: None.

Summary: Most people write reviews when something bad happens or they are unhappy with something, but no one hardly ever writes about companies when they are pleased with their service. After reading these reviews, I would like to say that I love sprint. I've never had a problem with them. I get great service and can do just about anything with my phone. If I'm out with friends, and they want to know baseball or football scores, I can look them up very easily and quickly. I can check my eBay bids, send and receive pictures, look up the weather and traffic, etc. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg for the services I have and I love sprint.

There will always be some that will never be pleased

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: erica klyver on Saturday, November 03, 2007
From: carbondale, CO (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: The phone works

Cons: I pay for what i use, so what do i have to complain about

Summary: i have come to the conclusion that there are way too many people out there that can't live a fruitful life unless they create drama to make themselves feel more important than they are. i have had cell phones for years. generally speaking, not everyone will EVER be pleased. i ordered my service. i ordered my phone. i don't go over my minutes. my phone works most of the time. i don't get my panties in a bind if it isn't perfect all of the time. i get charged for what i use and then i pay the bill. it is about as simple as that. i have no sympathy for individuals that can't simplify their lives and have to take it out on complete strangers. get over yourselves and change your attitude. in the long run, it is a much more pleasant way to live your life in all of its aspects. "that is all i have to say about that."

Worst Customer Service I've Experienced

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Jennifer Lyons on Tuesday, October 30, 2007
From: Podunk, OK (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: Nightime minutes starting at 7pm

Cons: Customer Service, contracts

Summary: I canceled my plan about a year ago because i was deploying overseas. When i came back a year later to start a new plan there was a charge over $300 sitting in my account. Turns out that the representative i talked on the phone with never actually canceled my plan. After following all the rules to cancel the plan guess who the blame was placed on? Luckily, i had a wonderful representative in person at the store who was on the phone with customer service for me dealing with this issue which was finally resolved after an hour on the phone. Although i did have to pay the $250 deposit, I'm still determining whether sprint is who i want to stay with.

Recently i tried to add another line and i was told by a store representative that i needed to call customer service. I called over there and spoke to about 4 different people who told me 4 different things i needed to do (which i barely understood). So i got fed up and asked where exactly i was calling and was told the Philippines. Hmm... reminds me of the days i had a Compaq computer and tried dealing with those representatives. After one more attempt of calling customer service i was told to go to a sprint store. Got to love the run around. Anyone looking to start a sprint plan, i would seriously recommend reading the rest of these reviews. Very helpful.

Just want what I asked for!!!

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Jackie Moore on Thursday, October 25, 2007
From: Calumet City, IN (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: The only thing keeping me here is the $200 charge for going somewhere else.

Cons: Pick a letter and I'll give you a reason.

Summary: I am so sick of being charged and double charged for any service they provide. The 9.99 charge to all three of my phones for something that they knew my phone could not even use. They change my plan at will and for the last three months I have been over charged an average of $45 each month. I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with customer service which is a joke. These carriers need to be investigated for fraud.
