Best Service in Wisconsin

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Therese Valley on Saturday, October 04, 2008
From: Sun Prairie, WI (United States)
Experience: 8 Years
Pros: Gets best service all over the state. Reasonable pricing. Great customer service, and I have needed that many times.

Cons: Always a little behind on the most advanced phones.

Summary: I have been using US Cellular for 8 years and have never had any disappointments from my carrier. The cell phones are always a little behind the times, but it's a small sacrifice to pay for a phone that actually ALWAYS WORKS at a great price. They also have been offering free incoming minutes that work no matter who's calling you - and have been forever. They get service. Now they just need to keep expanding so they can work on their phone selection.

Horrible Customer Service

By: Kelly McCarhy on Tuesday, August 26, 2008
From: St Louis, MO (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Cons: Hidden cost

Summary: This company always throws hidden cost and when you call them they can't explain the charge. My bill shows numbers that I have "called" in which I have never called or talked to. No to mention that they where in a differnt state so I then got roaming charges. They are not willing to help at all! I have dropped calls all the time!!! Do not go to this company!!!

Dropped calls and poor reception

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Laurie Garland on Tuesday, August 26, 2008
From: Channahon, IL (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: none

Cons: I don't have US Cellular but my daughter does. I am sick to death of the dropped calls and calls where she is cutting out so badly I can't understand what she's saying. This is her 2nd phone (because of problems) under contract (which you automatically have to renew when you have a problem and have to have another phone)and now there are the same problems with this one. They told her she has to buy yet another phone and sign another contract!!

Summary: BAD SERVICE! poor customer service! Not at all willing to listen and resolve issues. Sarcastic, nasty and should be drummed out of the business! Daughter has called and called and talked to several employees and they are sarcastic and demeaning to her! Not exactly the way a reputable company works. Disgusting.

Not too shabby

From: Clarksburg, WV (United States)
Experience: 6 Years
Pros: Cool Phones, pretty good service.

Cons: Expensive phone, hidden costs.

Summary: I have UScellular, and I have always liked them...but I believe there are always hidden costs in everything. I know that many providers allow unlimited texts & PIC messages....whereas US, you pay 15 for unlimited text only. I have found that many of my calls are being blocked (too many people using network)...overall though, I love US Cellular, but I like nTelos more...

US Cellular- EXCELLENT!

Overall Rating:
4.7 out of 5
By: Matt E on Sunday, July 27, 2008
From: Portage, IN (United States)
Experience: 1 Years
Pros: I've only had about 3 dropped calls in the past year, GREAT customer SUPPORT, I just got off the phone with 611 Support, and waited on hold for 32 seconds, according to my watch timer (I timed it) and the associate was very helpful and nice. Great Service and Great prices. Highly Recommend.

Cons: Because it is a small company, they do not have as good service out west.

Summary: Overall, if you are in the East and Midwest, I highly recommend this company. I actually ENJOY going into their stores and looking at new phones. They never push anything. Five Stars out of Five.

Who is better

Overall Rating:
4.7 out of 5
By: Uscellular Best Customer on Sunday, April 20, 2008
From: Waterloo, IA (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: The best customer Service on the planet.

Cons: Not open 24/7

Summary: I would never switch companies from US cellular. I mean US cellular goes above and beyond for there customers, They are really great with customer privacy, not just let people who just say they should access acount, because they use a phone access and ruin accounts, and they also dont cancel customers contracts, just because they call into customer service like another company. If you can give a REAL bad example of customer service, and not blame them because you dont pay attention to your bill, your contract that you sign or because they just wont give you credits for all of your overage charges, because you were not responsible enough to watch your minutes. Then please tell us all.

Good coverage. horrific customer service

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: c x on Friday, April 18, 2008
From: portland, ME (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: good coverage throughout rural Maine. This is a major challenge and US Cellular (unfortunately) seems to be providing the best coverage.

Cons: The customer service is so hideously, horribly bad that it is almost criminal.

Summary: I had a plan for four years. I went to check out new phones. The sales staff realized I had been assigned to the wrong market in the beginning and so switched my plan. I pay over the phone every month, whatever the computer tells me to pay. Well, when the plan was switched to the correct market, apparently I owed $83 that the computer never told me. I started getting calls from a collection agency which could not tell me why I owed the money - they just wanted it paid. US Cellular customer service refused to tell me why I owed the money, but they kept blaming it on me (not the fact that they had switched me to a new market area to correct their own mistake)- they just kept putting me through to the collection agency. It was awful. They ended up not even picking up my calls, but just transferring them through directly to the collection agency. So I ended up paying $83 that I did not know why, just so I would not have a negative credit rating. Once I paid, the collection agency told me that US Cellular does that all the time (switch people's plans and not tell them there is money owed in between). They said most of their collections are because of that. I called US Cellular and they told me that their own collection agency was lying. Like I said - absolutely hideous customer service. I hate them.

Good, but could do better

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: Alan Hagen on Monday, April 14, 2008
From: Susanville, CA (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: Friendly staff, knowledge about the phones and services is excellent. Services are reasonably priced. Great reception in the back country - much better than Verizon, AT&T, and other major companies.

Cons: Small Phone company = not in a lot of places. Phones not compatible to transfer files via bluetooth with other companies. Downloads require "Easyedge" which requires a monthly fee, airtime charges, plus the application download charge. Pay-as-you-go plans are also available if you want to download only a couple applications, but more expensive in the long run.

Summary: US Cellular isn't a major phone company yet, so this means that a person who moves to a location where Verizon or other big phone companies are, US Cellular might not be, making the user switch over to a different service. Though the company is great in more remote places that other companies, being consolidated into certain areas makes it hard for a person who moves constantly to stay with the company very long.
