The enV2 shares all of the same specs as the original, but has been repackaged in a smaller, lighter and cleaner looking form factor. Key features include a 2.0 megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard, EVDO data, GPS, media player and expandable memory (microSD).

What’s Good: Sleeker and smaller than the original EnV. Comfortable QWERTY keyboard and QVGA internal display make texting fun. Huge external keypad makes dialing easy. VCAST music and video support. Support for laptop tethering (phone as modem).

What’s Not Good: External keypad makes the phone look like a retro calculator, although I suppose that could be seen as a good thing. Space bar is small and oddly placed. Verizon’s menu system can be confusing. Limited Bluetooth functionality. Still a little bulky.

Bottom Line: Verizon and LG shrunk the EnV and the results are good. While the original EnV was an innovative but (very) big and expensive high-end phone, the EnV2 is smaller, cheaper, and slots into the middle of VZW’s messaging phone lineup. Text addicts who don’t need Voyager’s touchscreen — and additional size and cost — should find QWERTY bliss with this affordable and capable handset.

I hate my enV2 its so ugly and disgusting. I want the enV touch soo badly. I'm trying to break my enV2 and then get the enV touch. I broke it this morning but i dont know when im taking it to the store. I already had to get my enV2 repaired 2wice this will be the 3rd. I HATE THIS PHONE IT IS HIDEOUS AND EWW JUST GROSS! AND IT DOES LOOK LIKE A CALCULATOR!!!!!

I have had my phone for 10 months. One time I opened my phone to reply to a message and my screen looked like something was loading but never went away. Now I cant do anything with my internal screen because i cant see anything. Can someone please help me?

by just treating it like a king helps alot i have the same phone and i treated it horrible and it broke the first day also do not push down on the keys hard or they will stick

Just on here looking for a manual...And I don't know what's up with the EnV 2 bad reviews. I got this phone just after it came out and the only problem I've had is trying to figure out how to turn off call forwarding. It's been dropped several times, my 19 month old plays with it, and Its even been sat on and works just fine.

I have this phone. piece of crap. I got it April 2009. It is only 4 months old, and the Send, OK, 7, 8, 9, 4, and 6 buttons stopped working on the front. Also, i need to talk to everyone on SpeakerPhone because it doesn't work on the front. Sometimes it'll freeze when i text. My phone is only 4 months old, and it is already broken. When I took it to the Verizon Store, they didn't know what to do.....well, i was like "you sold me this phone, i want a new free one!" so theyre shipping me one now. Don't get this phone. Go with the Voyager [the first one], EnV3, or the Alias 2. Anything but this phone.

i love the way how it flips open! :D
i dont care about all of these bad reviews, i lovee the phone& i've used it and it's really good! if at&t had this phone i woul'd buy it in a heartbeat! i'm soo in love with it! :) :) :)

This phone is seriously a piece of junk...and that's saying it in nice terms. I am now on my 3rd replacement and I'm about to replace it again. The 'Send', '7', '8', and '9' buttons on the front stopped working and it would do the random shutoff thing.

The backlight on the second phone would flash by itself every 2-3 minutes even when I turned the backlight totally off. I even caught it dialing on the front panel by itself even though the front was of course locked. My third phone is having the same problem with the backlight.

I'm wishing I had waited and got the Alias 2. I'm hoping this time when I go to Verizon to replace it they will let me get a different phone. Its been less than a month and I'm on the 3rd phone already! Save yourself the inevitable headache...do not buy this phone.

dont get the env2 get the env3 the env2 is having too many problems with the bottons not working on the front and u cant even really do anything on the front cause u dont have a D-pad u have up and down arrows so that sucks and the screen is VERY small on the front and atleast on the env3 the screen is a little bigger on the front and when u open it the screen is much bigger than the internal screen on the env2!!!!
so dont get the env2 get da env3

I am so excited - i am getting the env2 as my first phone pretty soon, and i am using my own money. i hear lots of bad reports but if something happens and the buttons stop working or something, ill just get a new phone from verizon, they should give it to me for free. im so excited. any advice?!?!?!

i had this phone as my first and im saying definately dont get this as your first phone. i cracked the external screen so i could barely see any of the external but then all of a sudden the internal screen went blue like it was loading but never went away. i dont know what to do. my friends phone did this and the guy at customer service said it had to many apps. i dont know what that means so i deleted all my sounds and my pictures. it still doesnt work. dont get this phone as your first. save yourself the trouble and get the newest one there. and get insurance. save yourself the hassle.

Pros: Texting speeds, ease of use and navigation, music and just overall capability and durability.

Cons: Having to leave text recipient out until complete ( accidental send )

Summary: Would buy again, and now the wife has one.

Pros: Flip Open design, full keyboard, excellent picture quality, amazing battery life

Cons: Silver and clear paint chips easily, no flash on camera. Occassionally buttons do a weird sticky thing on the external display. 0 and send are really close together, a problem for avid texters.

Summary: Great for text messaging, over all my best phone ever. The button thing is annoying, but not regular. Otherwise it is an excellent phone, and perfect for text messaging. The battery life is amazing. I can text all day on it and still have half a battery at the end of the day!

Pros: has a qwerty keyboard and vz navigater not heavy heavy duty but my mom works outside and has dropped hers who knows howmany times and still works just fine and looks ok....so its kinda in the heavy duty area not hard to figure out spent 5 min, with it and learned it all.you cantext with the flip open or closed and can do almost the same on the outside as you can the inside.

Cons: frount keys dont work that well sometimes break the battery has a short lifespand and u dont get very good reciption.no side arrow keys on the frount of the phone.i personally think that the qwerty keys are 2 close together andi all the time oush the wrong button or the symbols button and enter a symbol not a letter.a small mermory,easliy scrathched.

Summary: i have had 3 env2s alreadyinte first mounth i had orignally got the maroon color and about 9 days later we took it back bnecause of my keys on the frount.a few days later we took that one back becauseo f the battery and got the black one......everyone says the black one is better there not sure but all myfriends have the balck one and have had no problems so i got the black one and love i tno problems so far except for the battery but i text a lot so i think that is the reason why.bad signal to send....well i hate that but u can send in digital so u really dont half 2 worry about that inless u call alot which most of amerca is not doin there all texting.this phone si nice and small and light wieght besides my 1st bad expercince i love this phone and recomend this to people who are easy on there phones......and not like myomom who worksout side......easly scratched though.

Cons: Small keyboard-trouble texting-breaks easily-Just about anything you can think of

Summary: I've been using my friends phone for a week...I don't know how he lives with it!!!!! It's a waste of money, if you're on verizon get a glyde or a voyager as your texting phone.

Pros: Large internal display, easy to text on internal and external, internal texting getting use too, bright screen, decent camera,battery life, music, EVDO.

Cons: Small outside display, 2.5 mm head jack, outside buttons can stick and crack, silver outside color wears, video sucks.

Summary: Pretty good phone over all. Nice phone for major texters. If you looking into getting it, i would suggest that you do.
