love this phone!!

Overall Rating:
4.5 out of 5
By: lizz D. on Saturday, September 05, 2009
From: Akron, OH (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: easy to use. small to hold. easy accsess to music and to put music on the phone.

Cons: If you drop the phone, the silver piece that outlines it chips away very easily. touch pad is sensitive. the camera is bad.

Summary: I've had the phone about 6 months and i absolutly love it. The touch pad is fun, but is sensitive. The camera on the phone is not very good. I love the wheel to scroll on the phone. It is so much fun. While on the phone, you can hear the other person very clearly. The volume for the MP3 player is very loud, but if you don't use headphones it drains your battery fast. The keypad takes some getting used to because the keys are small. It is very quick to find things on the phone. If I were you I would consider buying this phone because for me it was great!

Love it!

Pros: Great sounding mp3 player.
Can record an hours worth of video.
Can put your own ringtones on with free software(bitpim) and a cheap data cable.
Can hold a 16mb card

Cons: Touch wheel takes getting use to, but works great.

Summary: I've had the phone for a few months now. When I first got it, the first hour I thought what have I done, after a day I fell in love. The touch wheel took some getting use to, but now I really like it. Using bitpim and a cable I've been able to put my own ringtones on without any problem. The sound of the mp3 player beats the heck out of my last phone, and with the card I've got hours of music to listen to. The FM transmitter is fairly useless - pretty fuzzy, and the degredation of sound quality is too much. But since it has a regular mini plug output I can just plug it straight in to the aux input of the stereo on my Altima. I've used the included headset, and mic, but found the headset somewhat lacking, and have switched to some better sounding mini phones. I've taken several minutes of video and tons of pictures. Some are stored on the phone, some on the card and I've never had a problem with it crashing. Battery is adequate, though I like to play Zuma, and that can cut down the time a bit. Just charge it at night and I'm good to go. Otherwise it lasts a few days. I see bad reviews on here for this phone, but for me this it's working out nicely.

Don't buy this phone!

Pros: Cute, stylish

Cons: Garbage, freezes up.

Summary: I wanted to love this phone because it's a cool phone with good features. However, with low battery, it freezes while trying to use features like the camera. In the past, charging it would fix the problem. Now, my phone is completely frozen (won't power up) and it's just outside the 30 day warranty and alltel and LG both wash their hands of the mess. I have seen other reviewers that have had their phones freeze up too. This is common in this phone. Buyer beware!

Cons: Bad audio quality. Hard to hear

Piece of Junk

By: Matthew Bishop on Wednesday, April 01, 2009
From: Mcallen, TX (United States)
Experience: 3 Weeks
Pros: I like the battery life so far.

Cons: Takes for ever to actually get to where you want to go in the phone. It's time consuming. With the touch pad on low sensitivity anytime I bring the phone to my face to talk on it. It continuously flips through my phone. Sometimes I end up listening to music, or sending a text message or just some other screen. Worst of I open my slide to answer the phone it still rings. I push talk, it hangs up the phone.

Summary: I had to take this as a replacement to a damaged one. Since I have no other choice, I am stuck with it. I suggest you find another phone

This phone IS A DOG! Avoid at all cost!

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Russell Nowlin on Sunday, February 15, 2009
From: Charlotte, NC (United States)
Experience: 45 Days
Pros: Good music quality.
Nice appearance.
Now accepts 16GB memory cards.

Cons: Too many to mention, but a few are:
1. The phone crashes if you try to add many songs at once.
2. It's impossible to add your own ringtones without expensive 3rd party software.
3. The software for transferring music is a joke.
4. Touch sensitive keys on top easily can accidentally connect to pay services, and it's impossible to handle the phone without accidentally touching them (i.e. when putting the phone in a case.)
5. FM transmitter range only about 2 feet (I have to put mine

Summary: My roomie and I upgraded to these when our old contract ended. Mine at least rings when people call; he went through three different phones and still only received 10% of his calls. Finally getting so frustrated as to have his old phone reactivated and using this one only as a MP3 player. This phone has so many problems it appears as if it was rushed to market long before it was ready.

Great fun phone

Overall Rating:
4.4 out of 5
By: Melissa Chritz on Sunday, December 14, 2008
From: Mount Pleasant, MI (United States)
Experience: 7 Days
Pros: Great MP3, very flashy, great sound, easy to use for the electronic savvy

Cons: too touchy buttons/wheel, poor instruction manual, some features embedded too far

Summary: I love the phone, but some things are just buried so deep in the program it takes a few clicks to get there, no easy short cuts for some of the basic things. Have had to search the web for help info, book is about useless. The wheel and corner buttons are way too touchy and you can easily end up in a screen you don't want.. like the ones that cost you air time or extra $$. Texting is fine, great buttons easy to hit even with "fat fingers". Just have to watch where you put your fingers while holding it during texting.. for reasons above.
However, its not a phone I regret owning! After a week of owning it, I am now able to find things quicker and simply LOVE the ipod equivalent sound.
One feature that is the cats meow.. the music transmitter! Listen to your tunes on any radio, without any special cords? Makes ipod seem archaic!

Great phone, Fun to use!

Overall Rating:
4.8 out of 5
By: Miko McFarland on Friday, October 24, 2008
From: Highlandville, mid-west (United States)
Experience: 2 Days
Pros: User-friendly, sleek-looking, great MP3 sound, nice touch sensitivity, calls are crisp and clear, loud speaker for both calls and MP3, easy micro SD access

Cons: Limited options for personalization, keypad is awkward to use because the slider is top heavy, too many Alltel add-ons (they get in the way)

Summary: I've had the phone for two days and I already love it! It is very user-friendly (you can figure it out in five minutes or less) and the MP3 is easy to access and use. Great sound quality and volume, couldn't be more pleased. The touchpad buttons are a fun accessory, especially with the led lights. I would recommend this phone for anyone looking to use their phone predominantly as an MP3. However, if you are big texter, the small keypad may take some getting used to. Since the slider screen is a bit top heavy, I can foresee myself accidentally dropping this phone while texting. The only other negatives: Too many Alltel add-ons! This phone is loaded with features (like celltop, zuma, xm radio, web access, ringtone shop, etc.) that will rack up your phone bill in a hurry. Unfortunately, they kind of get in the way because they dominate the main menu wheel. I wish there was someway to delete some of these unnecessary features, oh well. I've also had trouble extracting picture files from the micro SD. They are JPEG's and I can pull the files up on my spouse's motorola, but for some reason they are not showing up on the Rhythym. But overall, I am very satisfied with the phone and it is well worth the money. Again, I would definitely recommend it to music-enthusiasts and ppl who like sexy white phones with UI buttons and cool lights!

LG Rhythm - Great Phone!

Overall Rating:
3.5 out of 5
By: Will Davis on Friday, October 17, 2008
From: Derby, KS (United States)
Experience: 2 Days
Pros: Great mp3 player with FM transmitter, crisp/clear sound, good camera, chat style texting, much more.

Cons: Small keypad, minimal web browser (no java).

Summary: I have only had this phone for 2 days, but so far I have been fairly happy with it. I have no problems hearing the other person when in conversation, and I haven't gotten any complaints of them not being able to hear me. The speaker phone is nice and loud. The mp3 player is very nice and it has an 8 GB storage capacity with the microSD card. The FM transmitter is a nice feature. The sound quality is very good - Much better than most phones out there. The camera is very good quality for a phone. The touchpad is nice with customizable sensitivity. Overall, the phone is very nice, and I do recommend it. The only things I don't like about it is that the keypad is kind of small, but it's manageable. Once you get used to it, it's not bad. There are much smaller/harder to use keypads out there. The other thing is that the web browser is minimal - not full html like a smartphone, but I knew that before I bought it.
Great phone, easy to use! Highly recommended.
