Pros: it's good for general functions, basically calling and direct connect. The speakerphone is loud and clear (though lately it's gotten worse and has been dropping calls). You get used to the interface after a while.
Cons: I have to charge it every night; Motorola is different from any phone I'd used before (I once silenced it and it took me a month to figure out how to unsilence it, I'll admit I wasn't good with phones then) and the camera isn't really that great. Texting is annoying and sometimes the phone won't be able to retrieve a text. The clip it comes with tends to drop the phone if you lean over on the side you've clipped it to.
Summary: I live on a farm and I've beaten this phone to what should have been it's death. I dropped it seven feet to a concrete floor, and all it did was flip open and scratch. I accidentally dropped it in my horse's food bucket, he threw it out, and still it works. It has scratches and the silver/grey has rubbed off in places, but I have dropped it numerous times.
I know other people who had the same phone were having problems with it and I may have just gotten lucky. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone who is a heavy phone user; but for those people who just need a phone to keep in touch, it should work fairly well.
Pros: sleek.
Cons: Very bad reception. If it is at home, highway, city, etc... My last service was so much better. Be very careful, and never drop this phone. You Will have to replace it! This IS NOT a durable phone! Not worth the price.
Summary: The life of the battery is terrible. I had to replace mine on a brand new i850 with 7 months.
The buttons stick.
If you read the comments on here, they were posted months and years ago. Things have gotten a lot worse with this phone. Beware!
Pros: The color screen is impressive and the keys are easy to use.
Cons: The exterior of the phone does not hold up to the wear and tear of use. The silver coating rubes of and reveals the black under coat. The nextel direct connect button tends to stick a lot as well.
Summary: The overall phone is average. The camera works well and the keys are easy to use. Problem is the clip tends to rube of the silver coating on the phone and the phone does not save your photos to the sim card.

Pros: Has a lot of functions that we use everyday
Cons: It is hard getting used to the small size phone
Summary: We like the phone as it has a lot of functions that we use daily. It also has good reception which makes it fantastic as we were tired of the in and out conversations.

Pros: Awesome looks and durability. Very crisp, clear sound and smooth operation.
Cons: I lose signal almost everywhere around my town. I don't like how it drops calls. I also find it hard to get signal in my own home.
Summary: I like the look and over-all operation of this phone. It has some really great features as well and fun games too. But I do not like the reception I get and I think it's from the antenna.

Cons: short battery life and bad reception in alot of areas, pretty expensive
Summary: overall i think the motorola i850 is a pretty good phone if you want a phone for its look and features, but not such a great phone if you are looking for quality. and for the high price you could find something better

Pros: See Summary...
Cons: None.
Summary: I just purchased the Nextel i850 phone for myself and gave my husband our i710. I really like the phone a lot. It's very easy to use and I did not need the book to help with anything. Very self explanitory. I never have any signal problems or dropped calls. Definately recommend this phone to family and friends.

Pros: Great reception, clear screen, easy menu set up.
Cons: The alarm is too hard to get to.
Summary: I like the Nextel i850, but the battery life is horrible! I also can't figure out if there is an alarm clock on there. It should be eaiser to get to, but I guess I should read more in depth in the instruction booklet. There are a few other items I don't like about the setup menu of the phone, but I do get much better reception and less dropped calls then any other phone I've had previously.

Pros: Clear screen, great reception, comfortable design.
Cons: None.
Summary: I have been looking for the perfect cell phone for six months...and I finally found it! The Nextel i850 is the phone for me because, like my previous phone (i730), it has all the features I was looking for and the camera and displays are excellent. I think the direct talk feature with the off-network is a major plus in situations where there is power failure. Nextel has been great to have as an cellular company and I won't switch to no other!
