Pros: great camera, great sound on ringtones, sleek enough for my pocket
Cons: Haven't figured out my voicemail
Summary: The touch screen took some getting used to but overall I have been satisfied. I changed from the Motorola Razr and like it way better then that, especially the camera. I get great reception, all people I have talked to say I sound really clear, my motorola always cut in and out and people had a hard time hearing me.
The widgets are really neat, I haven't tried out the MP3 player yet. Oh and when i do pic messaging, it rotates my photos and the wrong way, i haven't figured that part out yet. You can lock the screen so that you don't do any dialing, etc. accidently.
Pros: Responsive touch interface, good internet and great MP3 player
Cons: Volume could be higher with headphones
Summary: Replaced Motorola Razor. Touch screen is responsive and "vibrates" briefly when hitting keys to give a tactile feel.Virtual keyboard larger then a few other models I was considering.MP3 player works better than my real MP3 player! Holds up to a 16GB micro SD and has a 1/8" headphone jack.Voice activation works well.
Internet is MUCH easier to navigate than my wifes Motorola Q.Works alot faster too even though they use the same network. The "widgets" and such are neat. Learning curve for it wasnt long. After a day or two, I had a good grasp of all the main features beyond making simple phone calls.
The only improvements I would make concerns volume levels. With headphones,I wish it could go a bit louder. That and at max volume using the phone its acceptable, but i'd prefer it to go up another notch.Speakerphone/ringtone volume is OK.
Pros: Sweet camera, clear graphics, and a few good ringtones.
Cons: Too many...see summary.
Summary: The Samsung Caliber is not user friendly, and difficult to naviage through. If you are not very technology savvy I would not recommend this phone. I am very disappointed in this phone. There are so many ways they could have simplified this phone and I am still trying to figure out why they chose not to.
I bought this phone to replace my motorola razor phone, big mistake. I have on average 2 less bars everywhere than I had on the razor. If I'm driving...I cut in and out...always. I never had that problem with the razor.
And one more thing, If you have ever laid ur hands on an ipod touch or iphone...do yourself a favor and don't even pick up the caliber! The caliber is an insult to technology.
I am swapping out my phone ASAP for a motorola.
