Decent enough

Overall Rating:
3.8 out of 5
By: Cedric Fernandes on Thursday, October 06, 2005
From: Columbia, MD (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: Inspite of the cons I mentioned, I still think this is one of the better deals out there.

Cons: They double-billed me for one international call. Luckily I noticed - they were good about giving me the credit. So no harm done eventually.
Also, they charge you $10 up front and then adjust it against your future bills. I don't like that.
Also, they don't pay the fees you incur with the local phone company to switch long distance.

Summary: No monthly fees (with no paper billing) - that's the main reason I signed up.

Does not work

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Andris Padegs on Friday, September 16, 2005
From: Poughkeepsie, NY (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Sound is OK when it works.

Cons: Does not work, and I get no response to my e-mail.

Summary: Does not work. Was charged l.d. $5 connection fee three times, had a long talk with a Pioneer rep to have fee removed, and now when I make a long diatance call, I get a message that I do not have any l.d. carrier. But the latest Verizon bill has another $5 fee inlcuded. Verizon claims that I am connceted to Global Crossing, which must be another name for Pioneer. Pioneer did not respond to my e-mail.

Pioneer is a great long distance company!

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Katherine Seabolt on Saturday, September 10, 2005
From: Murphy, NC (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Cons: I have to mail a seperate check for Pioneer. It doesn't come on my phone bill each month.

Summary: I love this phone company. I only wish that I got 1 phone bill each month. This is the cheapest long distance you can get and the quality is excellent. I will be a long time friend of Pioneer.

best value for minimal LD users

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Charles TAYLOR on Friday, September 09, 2005
From: Tyrone, PA (United States)
Experience: 75 Days
Pros: no minimum usage, no monthly service fee, very low per minute rates

Cons: no reimbursement of switching fees, must make initial deposit when account is established ($10)

Summary: I normally have very little LD usage. I wanted a direct-dial, LD service with very low per minute charges and no monthly minimums or service fees. This plan fits my needs perfectly.

Pros: Discounted LD

Summary: Need to improve access to LD...LD service was down 3 times in two months. There is nothing more frustrating than getting "circuits are busy".

Long Distance - Did you know?

Many people are using their cell phones for long distance calls. If you divide your minutes by your monthly bill, you’ll see that regular long distance (especially the plans offered on our site) are less expensive in almost all cases. And, if you go over your minutes, you’ll be paying 20-40 cents per minute. Plus, by using long distance at home you’ll have better clarity!
