Uni-Tel

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Rachel - on Thursday, March 20, 2008
From: Hancock, MI (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: simple sign-up, great product and prices,

Cons: email invoice notification arrives approximately 2 weeks after invoice is dated, but 5 days before account will be debited (automatically)

Summary: We are very satisfied with the long-distance phone service through Uni-Tel. Prices are great and invoices list phone calls with their duration in 0.1 minute increments. Calls are charged by 0.3 minute increments, so you're charged only for time you're actually using the line.

Long distance phone service

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Kay O'Diam on Monday, February 18, 2008
From: Beavercreek, OH (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Very clear connection; great price

Summary: I signed up for this long distance service because I am taking a teleclass that meets once a week for 6 months, one to one and a half hours for each class. My connection has been very clear each and every time and the price makes it affordable for me to take this class. Also, in my line of work we can frequently have long distance calls so reliability and price are critical for me. I would highly recommend this long distance service!

Unitel--So Far So Good

Overall Rating:
4.8 out of 5
By: Ken Cornelius on Thursday, January 10, 2008
From: Ann Arbor, MI (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: Phone service (connections, voice quality) has been excellent.

Cons: Invoicing leaves something to be desired. If there is a way to see current period month-to-date activity, I cannot find it. Apparently one must wait until the end of a billing period to see what has occurred.

Summary: Highly recommended.

Summary: Not as convenient, or as cheap, as I had hoped.

Long Distance - Did you know?

Many people think using Calling Cards are less expensive than using regular long distance. How can this be? Don’t they have to pay for the usage of the same lines as everyone else? Sure they do, but calling card companies have become experts in marketing tactics!

Read the fine print of the calling card, they often charge for units, not minutes. A unit can be any measure of time they decide, plus they often have minimum call amounts and round up to the next unit. The bottom line is, they have done the math, and it’s going to cost most people more money than selecting a good long distance plan.
